Great Ways to Generate and Monetize Yahoo Answer's Traffic

Yahoo Answers is a place where people ask and answer questions online. You will ask, how this tool would give me some traffic and generate some money. Well, you’ve got to be creative in making money online, but here is the example of getting traffic from Answers.Yahoo.com. For instance you own a tech blog where you have some sponsored ads, as well as some affiliate links related to hosting services. So you just go to Yahoo Answers and check for questions related to your topic. You type in “Best Hosting”, press search and you end up on a page full of questions like this:

“Which hosting company is the best?”

“1$ hosting is it worth it?”

“How to pick a reliable host?”

Then, you just open all of those questions, read though them and try to help people while you promote your website. Just write up a cool answer: “Hey, I’ve been using this cool host! Check out it’s review on my blog!”. Something like that will do great for you. You will get approximate 5-10 visits per every question asked, and if your answer is picked as best, expect up to 100 visits per every “Best Answer”.
TIP I: Ask your online buddies to vote for your answers, that wouldn’t hurt them, but it will bring a lot of traffic to your blog, as well as some money! But this tip is a bit Black-Hattish, but you’ve got to break rules sometimes

TIP II: Keep it simple and do not post double answers, because administration is constantly looking for cheaters at Y! Answers, who get a lot of traffic, but answers are just poor. That’s why you have to work on your answer, write some cool stuff.

So here’s all I wanted to tell about making money from Y! Answers traffic. I have started with Answers to promote my sites, and I have to tell, the traffic is easy to get and it is awesome! Users subscribe all the time and leave a lot of comments . But I want to make sure, you understand, that spamming this website is not a good idea to get traffic, work for quality, not quantity!

8 Smart Promotional Tips to Make Your Blog a Roaring Success !

Promote your blogBlogs: one of the hottest mediums in the online world, you can barely visit any site that doesn’t have a blog section, and the amount of blogs out there is increasing daily. Writing awesome content is all very well and good, yet this alone will not make your blog a hit; without smart promotion you will almost definitely fail. After all, what is the point in putting all your effort into writing fabulous content if no-one is listening?

Here are 8 tried and tested promotional tips that can do wonders for your blog following;

Use and Abuse Social Media!

A somewhat obvious platform to promote your blog, this is all too often not used to its maximum capability. More and more potential readers of your blog are entering into the world of social media everyday so it would be foolish NOT utilise this platform. Yet, be careful not to simply post updates of new posts. Connect with people and communicate on a personal level. Not only will showing your personality in this manner make people more likely to read your blog and share it with their followers and friends, but you can decipher what your desired readers want to discuss. Social media engagement not only helps promote your blog but also improves it. Result!

Include Useful Links in your posts.

By linking up other relevant and useful blog posts, not only will your readers know where to look for useful information, the bloggers you have linked to will be grateful for the link and be more likely to link up to you in the future.

Comment, Comment, Comment!

Commenting on other blog posts is an excellent way to connect with people, form contacts in your niche and get you name recognized. Blog writers will often respond to comments and questions on their posts, ask pertinent questions and you are sure to get answers and form contacts. Connect with these influential people on Twitter as well.

Get Guest Blogging!

Possibly the best way to promote your blog, there are hundreds of options to guest blog out there, and posting quality content on high-quality sites give you a broader audience for your posts. When guest posting, most of the time you are allowed to include links back to your own site. Brilliant promotion, these blogs can drive traffic back to your own site and potentially enlist a whole host of new followers.

Accept Guest Blogs.

Following on from the previous point, allowing people to post on your blog is also brilliant promotion. Guest bloggers are always looking for places to contribute their content and are more than happy to promote their contribution all over their social media channels. This will drive a lot of new people to your site.

Use Your Contacts.

Leverage your friends and family, again a seemingly simplistic tactic but getting 20 friends and family to share you blog on their own social media channels could unleash your blog onto a whole new range of potential readers.

Social Bookmarking Sites.

Another fabulous way of promoting your blog is utilising social bookmarking sites. Submit your post to social bookmarking sites such as Digg and watch lots of new people arrive at your blog.

Get Pinteresting!

I know this is in a sense a social bookmarking site and the Internet is currently bombarded with posts advocating this site as the newest marketing tool , but I really thought it deserved its own point. Pinterest not only promotes your content to a whole host of potential readers, but gives you dofollow links back to your own site every time something from your blog is pinned. Create a Pinterest account and engage in this community, repining and commenting on other boards and pinning interesting content from your own blog. This is a brilliant way to increase traffic and

Wheeling and Dealing with SEO Link Wheelers

Building backlinks to your site is tough business, but it is easily one of the most important aspects of good search engine optimization. You need to have outside sites linking back to yours if you want to rank for your target keywords.

One way to get these links is to use the service offered by SEO Link Wheelers. While you could submit your own site to a huge range of directories, having seemingly “organic” backlinks holds much more weight in the eyes of Google, Bing, and other search engines.
What Are Your Target Keywords?

Before you even consider going out to hunt backlinks to your site, you want to know what keywords you want to target. Random anchor text from random sites don’t hold nearly as much value as having targeted anchor text from targeted sites.

And that’s the first step in using SEO Link Wheelers. When you go to the main homepage for this SEO service, you’ll see the abiliyt to enter your website near the top. In doing so, you’ll be offer a short site analysis.

Site Analysis Reveals Current Opportunities

This analysis tells you what keywords you are already ranking for, giving you a better idea of what you should target. However, the keywords where you already rank may not necessarily be the ones you want to target.

For the purpose of this example, I retrieved the free site analysis for DotComPho.com. Ideally, I’d want this site to rank for terms like “Vancouver entrepreneurs” and “make money online.”

As you can see, those are not the keywords where DotComPho.com is currently ranking. In any case, you can see the current position for the keywords, the traffic percentage, and the estimated CPC to buy one visitor to your site for that term.

Link pages from SEO Link Wheelers range from $379 to $664.

Where Are These Purchased Links?

That depends on which package you purchase. All of the pricing plans, however, give you a decent mix of links from a variety of sites.

SEO Link Wheelers says that it works with you to build links. These links come by way of micro-sites that are built based on your target keywords, blog posts in the SEOLW network, article directories, and free web 2.0 sites.

The idea is that they create link wheels that link to one another, passing along that SEO juice that they all need to pass on the SEO power onto you. With SEO Link Wheelers, you get bulk discounts, 100% unique content, and a fast turnaround.

It’s not entirely clear just how effective these link wheels are and whether Google will eventually detect (and crack down on) them, but you have to remember that these links will all look natural and organic to Google. After all, they really are natural and organic; you just happened to pay for it.

One Simple Trick to Increase Blog Comments

One of the most sought after goals of bloggers of all sizes is to increase the amount of comments by readers on a blog. There are many ways to increase the chances of someone commenting on your blog, such as the following.
  • Write open ended posts… ending with a question.
  • Provide a helpful post or tutorial that people can truly use.
  • Create controversial posts that people will surely agree or disagree with.
While all of these ideas are excellent for creating blog posts to gain attention and maybe even some new comments. The one simple trick to increase comments on a blog is to…

COMMENT TO ALL COMMENTS!

Yes, it may seem silly and obvious, but for some reason so many people avoid writing to each comment left on a blog. If only three people are commenting on your blog, and you comment to each, you now have six!
The more comments on your blog will not only increase the amount of activity on your blog, but it may help other readers and lurkers participate in your blog commenting as well.
If you aren’t already, try to comment to all comments left on your blog for a week and see how the user activity and comments increase. Everyone loves to read comments, especially when they are from the blog owner and provide lots of value.

Increase Blogging Exposure Through Wrapped Emails

With all of the different ways to promote your blog now a days, it’s tough to keep up with all of the trends. Don’t even forget about all of the social networks out there as well. It’s quite insane the amount of different platforms and web sites we have at hand when it comes to posting daily updates, status and blog posts.
An exciting new ways for bloggers and social network users to keep their friends, families and email contacts up to date with their latest social pages and blog posts, is through wrapped emails.

Wrapping emails is an interesting concept where your regular outbound emails get surrounded by an interactive letterhead that could feature images of your social networks such as your blog, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+ etc. This system, delivered by WRAPmail also allows for embedded links in the images so people who click get delivered directly onto your blog for example. The links are even tracked.

The creator of WrapMail, Rolv. E Heggenhougen created a quick email sample to show what you a custom wrapped email may look like. As you can see on the left side of the email, you also Rolv’s social links and other web site listings.

As a user of WrapMail, you can use their service for personal use, or business. They even have an affiliate program if you would like to start serving ads in your emails!

The main question to ask yourself is, how many emails are you sending daily/weekly/monthly, and can you benefit from having a custom wrapped email with all of your social links and favorite sites? If so, it might be a great idea to promote it with every email you send anyway.

Check it out for yourself, it’s free at www.wrapmail.com and let us know what you think as we haven’t found anything like it anywhere.

How to Create a Group on Facebook

Do you want to start a new group on Facebook? This brief guide will show you how to create it.

Once you have logged in to Facebook, click on the Home tab, located at the top right hand corner of your page:

Once you have done that, on the left hand side of the page, look for the Groups area. If you see the “Create Group…” option there, click on it. If you don’t, place the pointer of the mouse over the GROUPS title of the area, click on the MORE link that will appear, and then, near the top center of the screen, click on the large button that says “+ Create Group”. The mentioned options are indicated in the next two images:

Once you have done that, a pop-up box will appear with a small form you should fill out. In that form, fill in the textbox near the “Group name” label to give the group a name. Then, in the textbox near the “Members” label, enter the name of the Facebook friends that you would like to make members of the group: You just have to start typing someone’s name and click on it in the list that will appear. For the group to be created you have to add at least one of your friends as a member.

The last thing you have to set is the privacy level of the group. To do this, near the “Privacy” label, you have to select one of these three options:

  • Open, which means that anyone will be able to see the group, who is in it, and its members' posts.
  • Closed, which means that anyone will be able to see the group and who is in it, but only members will be able to see the posts.
  • Secret, which means that only members will be able to see the group, who is in it, and what they post.

Finally, once you have selected the privacy setting, click on the Create button, and your group will be created.

Tips to Increase Blog Traffic with Facebook

Facebook is the most popular social networking site with over 350 million members. Not only is it a great tool to connect with friends, family, colleagues and more across the world, but it's also a great tool to increase traffic to your blog. Following are 10 tips to increase blog traffic with Facebook.

Complete Your Profile Strategically

Consider your goals for your Facebook profile.  If you want to use it as a tool to establish yourself as an expert in your field and drive traffic to your blog, then you need to make sure your profile includes the information to support your expertise.  Be careful about the types of photos, videos, and personal interests you include in your profile though.  To use Facebook as a tool to drive traffic to your blog, you'll need to make a lot of Facebook friends, and it's likely you won't want them all to see those pictures of you drinking in college!

Find Friends

Use the search tool to find people on Facebook.  You can search by name, company, school, and more.  You don't need to know a person before you request to be their friend on Facebook.  The worst that can happen is that they decline or ignore your request, and the best that can happen is that they become a part of your Facebook network!  You can also find people to friend by looking through the friends of people you're already friends with and looking through Facebook groups and pages to find people with similar interests to your own.  When you find people who match your criteria and might be interested in your blog content, go ahead and send them a friend request!

Tips For Effective Facebook People Search

Join Groups or Create Your Own Group

You can create a group for any topic or reason on Facebook and invite people to join it.  Search for groups related to your blog's topic, and then join those groups and get active in the conversations going on in those groups.  If you can't find just the right Facebook group to support your efforts to drive traffic to your blog, create one!  You can send out group invitations to all of your Facebook friends.

How to Create a Group on Facebook

Create a Facebook Page and Become a Fan of Other Facebook Pages

The Facebook page feature is another great way to network with the Facebook audience. You can become a fan of existing Facebook pages (just search for ones related to your blog and then join the converation), and you can create your own. Facebook pages can only be created by official representatives for a company, brand or celebrity. Your blog could be considered a brand, so go ahead and create a Facebook page for your blog. Then be sure to feed your blog's content into your Facebook page status updates and continually add interesting information to it to keep the conversation going.

Link Your Other Social Accounts to Your Facebook Profile and Page

There are many tools available to help you build a great Facebook profile and/or page that can drive traffic directly and indirectly to your blog. Take the time to link your blog's RSS feed to your status updates, link your Twitter feed, SlideShare content, and so on to your Facebook profile or page. This way, your updates appear in your status stream for all of your friends to see. In some cases, a new tab is added to your Facebook profile or page, so content from some other services (such as SlideShare) is always easy to find.

Promote Your Facebook Link

Include your Facebook link in your blog's sidebar, in your email signature, and anywhere else you can think of to encourage more people to find you and send you a Facebook friend request.

 Be Active

Don't just create your Facebook profile, page or group and then disappear. In order for your Facebook efforts to drive traffic to your blog, you need to actively update your status, share great content, join conversations, and engage with other people. By building relationships with your Facebook friends, you can indirectly grow your blog's audience, too.

Acknowledge and Reciprocate

It's one thing to make friends on Facebook but it's another thing entirely to build relationships with them. Don't just spend all of your Facebook time updating your own profile and sharing your own content. Instead, spend the majority of your Facebook time commenting on other people's statuses and conversations, sharing other people's great content, responding to direct messages, and so on.

Place a Facebook Ad

Facebook ads are fairly inexpensive, can be targeted, and can raise awareness of your blog, your Facebook page, or anything else you want to advertise.

 Be Human

Facebook has a very personal edge to it. Unlike LinkedIn, which leans more toward a business edge, Facebook users expect members to be human, not promotional. With that in mind, mix your status updates and content between promotional information and entertaining, personal updates (just don't get too personal, remember how many people can see your Facebook updates).

Twitterfeed.com is best way for get more traffic from twitter followers

If your Twitter feed is beginning to replace your RSS feed, you can probably thank Mario Menti. Back in March, 2007, he created the initial prototype of Twitterfeed in London as part of a BBC developer program. Twitterfeed is a simple publishing tool which turns any RSS feed into a Twitter stream. Each feed item becomes a new Tweet consisting of the headline and a shortened link to the story or blog post. Today, 170,000 publishers are using Twitterfeed to convert 300,000 feeds into Twitter streams.

By one count, Twitterfeed is the third largest Twitter client, being used by 6.5 percent of all Twitter accounts and at one point was generating 9.2 percent of all Tweets. But it is not really a Twitter client, as investor John Borthwick of betaworks pointed out to me last night while we were riding in one of those bicycle rickshaws across Manhattan (I do not recommend this mode of transportation, we were in a hurry and there were no regular cabs available). Nobody uses Twitterfeed to consume their Twitter stream, so it is not really a client like TweetDeck or Seesmic Deesktop. However, a lot of people use it to populate their own Twitter account with messages.

So many people, in fact, were pushing their feeds through the service that Menti’s one-man shop was having trouble scaling the service. About a month ago, he sold a majority stake to betaworks and The Accelerator Group (TAG), and today it is relaunching with a completely rebuilt back-end, which should improve reliability.
Working with betaworks (which includes a stable of interconnected real-time startups including TweetDeck, bit.ly, and Chartbeat), the new Twitterfeed now also includes a basic analytics dashboard which brings in bit.ly data so publishers can see how much traffic is coming to their site from Twitter. They can also compare that side-by-side with traditional Feedburner stats to see where most of their redares are coming from and which source is growing faster.

Twitterfeed is also adding more sign-in options. In addition to OpenID, it now accepts usernames and passwords from Google, AOL or Yahoo accounts. But one big drawback the service still needs to address is the lag time between a post hitting a feed and the corresponding Tweet hitting Twitter. It can still take a half an hour between those two events. When you are talking real-time, that is 30 minutes too long.

What is StumbleUpon?

StumbleUpon is a two tier discovery engine that collates web addresses.
In the main, members use the StumbleUpon facilities to discover new online content according to pre-set personal preferences.

For bloggers, using the StumbleUpon facilities to create shortlinks to your own online content adds your post (web address) to the StumbleUpon directory and drives traffic to your blog/website.

Sign up to StumbleUpon
The StumbleUpon registration process is very simple.  You will need a valid email address, a unique username, a password and you will also be asked for your gender and your date of birth.  This is so that content can be streamlined to your preferences.  You can also opt to log in using your Facebook account.

After you have entered this information you will be directed to a list of interests, or categories.  Pick as many or as few as you like but the more you select, the more varied the content you will be shown.

(check which toolbar/add-on/extension you need for your browser)

Select the toolbar for the browser that you use – there are toolbars available for all the main browsers; Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox, etc.  They may differ slightly in appearance but their functionalities are the same.

 or
Hitting this button will find you random new content.

Click this if you like the content displayed and want to publicly recommend it on your profile.  Also hit this to recommend your own content.  If it is the first time a web page has been Stumbled then you will need to complete a short form detailing whether the content is “safe for work”, the topics it should be filed under and there is space for an optional review.

Click this if you dislike the content displayed so that your StumbleUpon preferences update to show less of this type of content although it won’t completely remove the category from your preferences.

Share the displayed content with your social network and your online community.  Share on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, email and more.

“All Interests” will provide you with web content from all of your category selections or you can filter down to a single category to get more precise recommendations.

See reviews and recommendations of the displayed page, Stumblers who like it and more.  This is a great way to “meet” other Stumblers.

This is how many web pages you have recommended or given a “thumbs up” to.

Quick navigation to the StumbleUpon home page

HINTS AND TIPS

  • Use the StumbleUpon share options to create shortlinks to your own content
REMEMBER:  When sharing your own content on your social media platforms, use the StumbleUpon toolbar.  Each time your StumbleUpon shortlink is clicked on, it is another "stumble" or recommendation.  The more times a web page is Stumbled (recommended or give a “thumbs up”) the greater the chance that it will be recommended to other Stumblers, therefore widening your audience.

  • Stumble other pages (give them the “thumbs up”), not just your own content
REMEMBER:  You can “stumble” any webpage – not just one that has been thrown up from the StumbleUpon directory.  This can be a link you have seen on Twitter, a picture you have seen on Facebook or your own content.  Ensure that you don't just Stumble your own content as this is considered spamming and poor etiquette.

  • Set the StumbleUpon toolbar to open each time you are browsing the internet OR have a shortcut in your browser toolbar
REMEMBER:  By nature, internet readers are followers rather than leaders.  If they see content recommended by others, it is more likely that they will recommend it themselves to their own network or hit the “thumbs up” button so that it appears on their profile as an official Stumble.

  • Have a StumbleUpon button or share option on your blog
REMEMBER:  Now you've signed up, give it a try by Stumbling this post by using the button on the left. And here is my StumbleUpon profile too.

Creating a Group is an easy way to bring professionals together online. A LinkedIn Group makes sense for colleges, alumni groups, non-profit organizations, special interest groups, and more.
To get started, navigate to the “Groups” link on the left side of your page, and click on the “Create a Group” link. Upload a logo, choose a unique name, and enter supporting details such as description, summary, and website link.
If you want others to be able to find your group when they search, check the “Display this group in the Groups Directory” box. In addition, you can choose whether or not members can display the group logo on their profiles.

Membership

Once your group is created, you can navigate to the group under the “Groups” link on the left side bar. Navigate to your group and click on the “Manage” tab on your group to get started. From here you can manage membership, invitations, and add group managers.
LinkedIn does not invite members to join your group, you must invite your members to join. To invite members to your group, you have a few options. If you already have a list of members that should be in your group, you can “pre-approve” them, so that when they request to join the group they will be automatically accepted. What you need is a spreadsheet with their name and email address. You would upload the file directly by clicking on the “Invite Members” link and uploading the file under “Batch Pre-approved Members”. Alternatively, you can manually pre-approve members.
If you would like to block certain members from joining your group, click on the“ Remove & Block” button on the “Manage” tab and choose which members you want removed and blocked from joining your user group.

Managers

If you’ve created a group, you are the group owner and manager by default. If you wish to share the management responsibility with others, you can promote a member to become manager of the group. To add another manager, click on the “Members” link, and next click the “Promote to manager” link next to the person you want to add as a manager. You can remove that user as a manager by clicking on the “Managers” link and selecting the “Remove as manager” option.

10 Ways Bloggers Can Use Twitter

Twitter is a fun and useful way to promote your blog and drive traffic to it. While it might seem that micro-blogging through Twitter might just be a fun thing to do, you can actually use Twitter to grow your blog. Remember, building relationships is a key part of growing your blog, and Twitter is an excellent tool for building relationships.

Take a look at the suggestions below for how you can use Twitter to drive traffic to your blog.

1. Drive Traffic

Twitter has a viral marketing effect to it wherein your tweets could spread quickly across the Twitter community if they are interesting. For example, if you're hosting a blog contest or launching a new feature on your blog, send a tweet to let your followers know. Chances are they'll spread the word as well. As word gets out, more and more people will visit your blog to check out what all the hype is about.

2. Network with Like-Minded People

Twitter is set up inherently to act as a networking tool. People "follow" users whose tweets they enjoy or interest them. As such, you'll be able to connect with like-minded people by using Twitter which could lead to more traffic to your blog and much more.

3. Make Business Contacts

Just as Twitter is a great networking tool for finding like-minded people, it's also very effective with connecting users with business contacts. Whether you're looking to hire someone to help you with your blog or business (or both), looking for a new job, or just looking to bounce ideas off your business peers, Twitter can help.

4. Establish Yourself as an Expert

Twitter can help support your efforts to establish yourself as an expert in your field or blogging niche to the online community. By communicating through tweets about subject-matter you're knowledgeable in, answering questions via tweets, and searching out new contacts, your efforts to be viewed as an expert (which gives your blog greater credibility and appeal) will grow.

5. Get Ideas for Blog Posts

If you're having a dry spell in terms of coming up with post ideas, Twitter can help get your creative juices flowing. Read and send some tweets and see what people are talking about. Something you read is apt to spark a post idea or two to get you through a temporary state of blogger's block.

6. Ask Questions

Just as you might use Twitter to establish yourself as an expert in your field, other people use it for the same reason. Don't be afraid to ask questions. You just might learn something new and find new bloggers and users to connect with!

7. Provide Live Coverage

If you're attending a conference or meeting that you'd like to share, you can send multiple tweets real-time to share the information you learn then expound on your tweets with blog posts.

8. Ask for Diggs, Stumbles and Other Promotional Help

Twitter is a great place to ask your followers to Digg or Stumble your blog posts. You could also ask other users to blog about your post with a link back to it or spread the word to their own Twitter followers to drive more traffic to your blog.

9. Accuracy and Fact Checker

Imagine you're writing a blog post about a recent event but don't know how to spell the names of the people involved in the event. Send a tweet to get the information you need, and while you're at it, give your followers a heads up about your upcoming blog post.

10. Find and Share Resources

Need a quote, interview or guest post? Want to offer your services as a source? Send a tweet!

How to use MySpace to get more inbound links and free traffic

MySpace is not as popular as facebook anymore but you should not ignore it. There are still millions of people who use MySpace on a daily basis and they are likely to be interested in your products.
Taking advantage of MySpace is quite simple as it doesn’t take much technical knowledge to create a profile page and use it to create links and traffic to your main website. The key to using MySpace is to stand out from the crowd. This article is going to cover the best ways to use this website.

Set up your profile so it’s appealing to your market

You will need to use basic copywriting skills in order to make your pages enticing. Just as sales letters have headlines and bullet points, so should your profile. You need to get people’s attention right away and draw them into your profile. It is also a good idea to use certain images and video on your MySpace page as people tend to be very visual.

Ensure it gives a clear message

Your profile should be very easy to read and navigate while giving a clear message to your audience. Your visitors should know your interests in the first couple of seconds, or they will simply leave. Don’t be tempted to use confusing background images or patterns as they make the text very hard to read. Make it clear, simple and professional.

Quality content

As with all internet marketing methods, the focus should be on providing quality content for your readers and subscribers. You should give away information that other people charge money for. You need to get them attracted and eager to learn more from you. Ensure that you answer the most important questions that your market has, as this will attract more people.

Make your page different

You need to be unique in some way in order to get people to add you to their favorites or subscribe for your newsletter. You can do this by offering free videos, free software or by just by being dynamic and controversial. There are many angles to take in order to stand out.

Have a primary focus

Your MySpace page must have a primary focus to it. Don’t try to include all your knowledge on a single page. Focus on one element of your market and target a certain prospect. This will remove a lot of the people who are not serious, but it lets you focus on the most likely customers.

Make useful posts

As most users of MySpace seem to write about their lunch or pets, you can quickly stand out by being interesting and writing about important issues. If you address the things that people in your market are concerned about then your readers will want to learn more from you. This is the best way to have a set of avid readers and subscribers.

Refer visitor to your website using a link

Remember that the purpose of MySpace is to refer users to your website. Don’t forget this fact
